010674 SIECUS invites disaster
Dear Editor,
Have the citizens of one of the towns in our area gone completely mad? They actually turned the local high school to Dr. Mary Calderone who tries to sell sex education of the most doubtful and controversial nature. This is incredible,
The numerous lectures and writings of Dr. Calderone and the organization she represents (SIECUS) invite disaster. She offers a free-swing, happy-hooker mentality. Her thing and the tons of material that go with it call for a pill peddling permissiveness with abortion for backup.
The program bypasses all Judaic Christian avenues of restraint and drives out every last thread of innocence, virginity or solid home-spun morality. The idea seems to be: Let's swing; everybody is doing it.
Actually the parent is given superficial solicitation by SIECUS but only for the purpose of gaining access to the mind and soul of the student. Eventually this will include everyone from the Sesame Street age through high school.
Sexual freedom will be the thing. It will liberate our children. From what? From the very thing we need most - the family.
Dr. Richard V. Lee, director of medical clinics at the Yale University Medical School, has counseled thousands of young people. He explains the supposed sexual liberation of young people is a myth. Many young people do not want to be sexually liberated. Dr. Lee contends that too many have been pressured into pre-marital sex. He says: "Our sexual liberation does not induce the freedom to say no." He attributes a large part of the problems young people face to the lack of "public defenders of chastity."
Parents are the primary educators of children. They should not give Boards of Education a blank check to manipulate the minds of the young.
