032974 Right To Life Fundraiser

Cardinal Timothy Manning will co-chair a fund-raising dinner hosted by the Southern California Right to Life League, Tuesday, April 2, at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

Bob Hope has been asked to officiate as master of ceremonies.

The event will begin at 8 p.m. and representatives from many other religious faiths, including former All-American football player, Rev. Donn Moomaw, of the Bel-Air Presbyterian Church, will attend.

The principal speaker will be Sen. Mark Hatfield, Rep., Ore., who co-sponsored the Human Life Amendment with Sen. James Buckley, Rep., N.Y. That bill is now under consideration in the Senate.

More than 1,600 persons are expected to attend the dinner.

The Right to Life League was founded in 1967 in response to what was labeled "the proabortion climate" in this country.
Members of the league come from all religious faiths thereby exploding the myth that the abortion issue rests solely on Catholics.
