050674 KRUPSAK To ANNOUNCE

"People are delighted to see a woman running this Year," state Sen. Mary Anne Krupsak says of her unofficial candidancy for the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor.

The Canajoharie Democrat said Saturday she would formally announce her candidacy at a news conference at 10 a.m. Friday in New York City followed later in the day with an appearance at Albany.

Miss Krupsak, 42, told a reporter in Syracuse, where she attended a state Democratic

Committee meeting, that her longtime experience in government made her as well qualified as anyone to seek the post.

She served as a legislative aide, was elected to the Assembly in 1968 and re-elected in 1970 before winning her senate seat in 1972.
