111378 Letter to Jennie "misinformed" Catholic

Dear Jennie,

In your letter of 11/8/78 you say: "I am not dishonest." I will grant this but I do think you are "misinformed." I believe, further that you are permitting yourself to be "used" by those who are overemphasizing the so-called "rights" of women and neglecting to consider that when a way in preg ant, she has within her a new human being who is helpless and whose rights must be respected and defended.

From a reading of your several letters I would gather that you are confining your reading largely to the releases distributed by Planned Parenthood and the ACLU. You are accepting their statements at face value-ma being true, You seem to be implying that the official Church, bishops, and the laity have done little to bring comfort to the mentally, physically, and spiritually afflicted.. Is this in keeping with the facts?

Today , November 13, is the feast of St. Francis Xavier Cabrini, one loved by those of Italian extraction and admired by the generality of Americans.. Those few facts were copied from the daily missal..

bulletSt. Francis Xavier Cabrini was born in Lombardy, Italy, in 1858.
bulletfounded the Missionary testers of the Sacred Heart# and in bulletUnited States she founded schools, hospitals, and orphanages bulletfor the care especially of Italian immigrants and children.

She died in 1917.

Notice that Mother Cabrini's works were focused n taking care of all the living. She did not solve problems of those suffering by killing them; she took care of them, What amble system has PP inaugurated to help women and children? And the followers of Mother Cabrini are only one of many groups of men and women who have dedicated their lives to bringing a better quality of life to suffering women and girls.

Undoubtedly you are familiar with the outstanding work being done by the sisters who conduct Rosary Hill, Can any work being done by PP, NARAL, Catholics for a Free Choice match this work? You have heard of

bulletwork done by Father Damien among the lepers. And by Mother Teresa.

While it would be erroneous go say that the list of Catholic works of mercy is endless, it is true that the list is of considerable length; and exceeds by far the list of those conducted by PP. When stripped of euphemisms, PP et al. are primarily interested in killing at a profit those children who are brought into being by those who are seeking the pleasures associated with copulation. PP is interested in distributing contraceptives and abortifacients which it acknowledges are far from being effective. The failures occasioned by the use of these imperfect devices provide the grist for the abort and the abortionists.

I believe that this statement is true: Catholics who promote such organizations as PP, ACLU, NARAL, NOW, and Catholics for a Free Choice have by this activity automatically withdrawn from the Church. Why permit yourself to be "used" by those who are unquestionably violating the First, Fifth, and Sixth Commandments?

None of us knows the day nor the hour at which we shall be called to render an account of how we did God's Will while we were on earth. You are not getting any younger. Why risk losing the opportunity to spend eternity in the presence of God? Planned Parenthood and ACLU will be unable to help you.

Think seriously about it.
