When abortion was legalized by the Supreme Court, its advocates, including our governor, recited the "law of the land^- song. Will they now apply that tune to that same court's decision regarding the funding of abortions' It doesn't appear that way.

The real law of this land is in the voices of the people not the courts or Congress. Our Constitution and its amendments stand for democractic rule of the government by the governed. For many years several Human Life Amendments to the constitution - pro and con - have been rotting in congressional committees, never reaching the floor for debate.

We can settle the whole matter by pressing our elected federal representatives to bring the issue before us. Whichever amendment finally comes before the people for a vote, we will know the will of the governed and abide by it.

Advocates on both sides must urge their followers to bring the matter before the American people - the haves and the have nots - to see which drummer we shall march to as a nation.
