042097 Sleazy Greeley Principal John Smith supports Planned Parenthood and calls Speaker's flier misleading

In a promotional flier advertising Wednesday's forum, organizer Philip Christe said the featured speaker, Helen Westover of Mid-Hudson Stop Planned Parenthood, speaks often on the social and educational policies of Planned Parenthood. '

The flier said she most recently addressed students and educators at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua.

Greeley Principal John Smith called Christe's flier misleading.

He said Westover's visit was part of an assembly on abortion sponsored by Respect Life, a student group. She was invited to present the pro-life view on abortion while another speaker talked about the pro-choice point of view, he said.

"This ad, by mentioning our school's name, implies that (her anti-Planned Parenthood work) was the basis upon which she came to our school," Smith said. "That is not correct."
