062896 Administration must accept blame for incident I couldn't believe the letters from the out-of-district people that appeared in your paper on June 18 regarding the "prank night" at Fox Lane High School. There is no question that the two or three students who are responsible for the damage of the school should be held responsible and if the parents whose children were there are willing to accept responsibility, so then should the administration.Principal Richard Kraemer was fully aware of the fact that those seniors were, going to the school that night. He had a meeting with a small group of students and offer to have them spend the night in the commons. They flatly refused. It should be noted that Mr. Kraemer met with the senior parents three weeks before the incident and discussed issues of the prom and graduation. There was never a mention about this so-called "prank night."If the proper measures were taken by the principal, this unfortunate event would never have taken place. How absurd to think that the administration would have security there from 4:30 in the morning! The damage was done long before that. If the board will not hold this administration responsible, then we should look to replace the board. The school board is an elected body that should b* the watch dogs for the taxpayers. Aril; so far they have done nothing but d®-4 fend the administration's lack of actions in this matter. The principal should stand and be counted! — ANN DICKENS Pound Ridge |
