I am contacting you with complaints, questions and comments about the 8th grade cabaret show, which will be staged on November 19th and November 20th.

The flier asks parents that can help to contact Joe DiGrazia or Sarah Fay. However, it fails to say how to contact them. There is no mention of a telephone or fax number and it contains no email addresses. I also want to comment on the $50.00 activity fee that is required for a child's participation. We have a school budget that approaches ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS. If my information is correct our budget represents a figure of about TWENTY-TWO to TWENTY-THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS PER STUDENT. Again if my information is correct, if this isn't the highest per student cost of any school district in the area it sure rivals any that may be higher. The school taxes in this district are astronomical and I find it unbelievable that the district doesn't have the funds somewhere in the nearly $100 million dollar budget to finance this performance. It is inconceivable that the district can't survive on almost $100 million dollars and tells the taxpayers it needs MORE MONEY to stage this performance. Then, in order to obtain the additional funding, without conscience, preys on a parent's love for their children and demands a $50 fee in order for a child to participate. I find the arrogant approach being used here to be completely reprehensible and totally unjustifiable.
