I recall you challenging the accuracy of my statement, asserting that the actual rate is 63%.

At last night's Board meeting, I presented the source for my statement. In the February 1997 Report To The Governor and The Legislature, Bedford Central School District reported that 53.4% of its 1995-96 class were awarded Regents diplomas. I enclose:2 a copies of pages 23 and 24 of this report.

In the same report issued in February 1996, the rate for graduating seniors in the class of 1994-95 was 49.5%.

I asked the Board last night what the Regent's graduation rare was for the class of 1997. Dr. Dennis responded that he did not know. As the school's principal, perhaps you have that figures readily available.

I do not doubt your claim that 63% of the graduating class receive Regents diplomas, I simply would like to know the source of your figure and to what graduating class you are referring.
