MEET THE BAUMANN SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS SCHOOLS |
Illegal Expenditure of School Moneys With the Employment of Robyn Lane "I have this school in my blood," says Robyn Lane, West Patent Elementary School's new teacher in charge. For the past 13 years, Mrs. Lane has been part of the fourth and fifth grade team. This year she will take over many of the day-to-day responsibilities for running the school.Education is actually a second career for Mrs. Lane. She was in human resources at a medical center for 10 Years before going back to school (Fordham) for a master's in education; subsequently she joined the teaching profession. Currently she's enrolled in the Future School Administrators Academy (FSAA), a partnership between Putnam/Northern Westchester Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) and Teachers College, where she expects to obtain her administrator's certificate this spring. Mrs. Lane sees the FSAA as "a golden opportunity. We're learning from the top people. The first day I walked in I was convinced I had made the right decision." " I love everything about this school," Mrs. Lane says enthusiastically. "The design of the building, with its open space, fosters interaction. And I love the fact that teachers are team teaching. We have a terrific mix of children here and there's a wonderful spirit of learning in the building by both adults and children. All in all it's a warm, wonderful place to work." At West Patent Mrs. Lane wants to "focus on the kids." She plans to be in the classroom as much as possible and to use her knowledge of the West Patent community "to promote the best educational environment." Specifically she will devote time to implementing the new math program and on developing a literacy program that meets the needs of all students. She also hopes to expand the building's study committees to explore educational issues. BACK TO :The Bedford Central School District |
