The Regular Meeting of the Board of Education will convene at 6:00 p.m. at which time the Board plans to move immediately into Executive Session to discuss the Superintendent's End of Year Evaluation and to discuss the status of teacher contract negotiations with Counsel. The Board is expected to return to the Regular Meeting at 8:00 p.m.

1. 2002 Hugh McMillan Educational Excellence Awards

8:25 - 8:55

Mr. Allan Cohen and Ms. Kirstin Townsend-Zarras, on behalf of The Community Education Foundation, will announce the names of the recipients of the CEF Hugh McMillan Educational Excellence Awards for 2002. Each of these individuals received glowing nominations from both parents and colleagues. This year's honorees are:

Jane Cooper - community volunteer

Michael Burke - FLMS computer lab assistant David Friedman - FLMS school psychologist Romey Michalec - WPES administrative aide

Fox Lane High School Community Service Proposal         8:55 - 9:15 Dr. Stephen Falcone, High School Principal, will present to the Board a proposal to expand the Community Service requirement at Fox Lane High School but permit students to fulfill it over the course of their high school careers. Community Service will be broadly defined to include experiences ranging from formal, credit bearing service learning to non-academic community services such as volunteering at agencies or clean up activities. This will include service done within and outside of school.

Fox Lane High School Contemporary Choir and Music     9:15 - 9:45 Participation

Dr. Stephen Falcone and Mr. Chip Zellner, the Director of Visual and Performing Arts, will discuss with the Board the scheduling of Contemporary Choir and department requirements for participation in musical performing groups.
