(Deputy superintendent of schools for business, associate superintendent of schools for business, assistant superintendent of schools for business and any other person having professional responsibility for the business operation of the school district)

1. Application and Fee - An application requesting School Business Administrator certification and the required $100 fee

2. Baccalaureate Degree

A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or from an institution authorized by the Board of Regents to confer degrees and whose programs are registered by the Department

3. Graduate Study in School Administration and Supervision - 24 semester hours

Semester hour credit for internship is not applicable to graduate study in school administration and supervision coursework

4. Internship - An approved administrative/supervisory internship under the supervision of a practicing school administrator and of a representative of the sponsoring institution of higher education

One year of satisfactory, full-time experience as the chief business official of a school district may be substituted for the internship. To have such experience considered in lieu of internship, you must file a completed Form OT-11 Online Print Form). This form must be signed by the chief school officer, who verifies the experience and recommends it as a substitute for the supervised internship requirement.
