All politics aside, let's take a look at what we need most on our board of education. First and foremost, with Only one of our five current board ,members serving a second term, we Have a critical need for experience and continuity. Second, as the last three embers elected to the board had little to no service on school committees, we require-an individual with a Depth and breadth of knowledge and understanding about a myriad of school-related functions. Third, we need an individual who has demonstrated their commitment to education, our schools, and our community by assuming leadership roles in all three of these areas. When comparing the two candidates running for a seat on the board of education, Donna Walsh is the clear choice in all three of these areas.
Moreover, we should ask what qualifications each candidate brings to the board. Mr. Pavalow has a back ground in technology; however, a renowned technology expert already serves on the board. Mrs. Walsh is the only board member who is an attorney, and her legal background and training is an invaluable asset. She is also currently the only female member of a contentious group.
Based upon the merits, there is no doubt that re-electing Donna Walsh is the best choice for our school board.
