09-22-2000 School Board agendas are no longer being mailed to residents
As a cost saving measure, Bedford Central School Board agendas are no longer being mailed to residents, Schools Superintendent Bruce Dennis said recently. However, they are available on the school district's Web site, Bedford Central School District . The agendas are also available at all of the community libraries on the Monday preceding board meetings, in each of the district's seven schools and the district's administrative offices. One of the school board's goals is to improve communications with the public. Dr. Dennis said that he planned to summarize the highlights of every board meeting so that a written summary could be transmitted to the district in a variety of ways, including a monthly newsletter to parents, and via the press. In addition, he said that he was exploring the possibility of posting the summaries and school board minutes on the district's Web site. The district's athletic director, Tom Caione, is also producing a Fox Lane athletic newsletter called "Fox Tales," which, along with the sports Web site, will contain athletic schedules, participation requirements, deadlines for physicals and updated game scores.
