Dear Parents, As you may
know, the Board of Education has initiated a search for a new
superintendent of schools, following Dr. Bruce Dennis's recent
announcement of his intention to retire at the close of this school
year, after twelve years of dedicated service to our community and
its schools. To assist in this important process, the Board has
retained the services of Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, Ltd., a
national search firm with a proven track record of success in
assisting public school districts throughout the country in their
identification of top administrative candidates.
A very important early step in
this search process is to identify those characteristics the Board
will seek in our new superintendent. To this end, the Board is
soliciting the input of parents and invites you to meet with a
consultant from Hazard, Young, Attea at one of the following three
community forums: |
Session One: Mary Lou

Wednesday, October 8, 2003, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
Session Two: Mary Lou

Session Three: Mary Lou
Meese Theatre, Fox Lane High School, Fox Lane Campus Thursday,
October 9, 2003, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

In addition, please
complete the enclosed Leadership Profile Assessment
form and either bring it with you to one of the above forums
or mail/fax it directly to the address/fax number indicated
on the form itself by Friday, October 10, 2003. Additional
copies of this form may be printed from Bedford Central's
website at www.bedford.k I 2.ny.us.
Parent involvement in this
process is crucial, and the Board thanks you in advance for
