BEDFORD TEACHERS ASSOCIATION
POST OFFICE BOX 180
MOUNT KISCO, NEW YORK 10549
To- All Members
From: Ken Kurzweil, President
Date: April 25, 1995
Your help is urgently needed in supporting the proposed school district budget on election day, May 3, 1995. The proposed budget reflects a 4.29% budget to budget increase from last year and preserves virtually all of the educational programs in
our district. I believe that the proposed budget is sound, reasonable, and worthy of your support. 1" should be evident to all of us, that the quality of education which we can provide is directly tied to the passage of the school budget.
If you are a resident of the district, please be sure to vote YES on election day between 6:30 am and 9 pm at your local elementary school.
Whether you are a resident or not, please contact your friends who live in the district and urge them to vote in favor of the budget.
This year is also a very crucial year with regard to the election of school board members. block of three opponents are challenging the three incumbents Joe Letersky, Burt Solomon and Deborah Timberlake.
While the BTA does not endorse candidates, you should know that People for Public Education, the very positive and pro-public education group has endorsed all three incumbents. I believe that the entire nature of our school district is at stake with this board election.
Your building Vice-President and Representatives also have information about the candidates running for the School Board.
Please vote on May 3, and demonstrate that the voice of Bedford's teachers in providing a quality educational program for our children is loud
and effective.
Thank you.
