MEET THE BAUMANN SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS SCHOOLS |
Dear Parents: Since last Spring, a committee of parents from the Fox Lane Association, community members from the Mt. Kisco Drug Council and Bedford-Pound Ridge Drug Council, Fox Lane students and their advisors., and High School Administration has been working to design a program for our students called "Awareness Day." The purpose of the day is to provide information for our students and give them a chance to reflect on their own knowledge of drug and alcohol use, of the AIDS epidemic and the stresses of adolescents. To accomplish this, we have put together a program of speakers and workshops which will provide the students with good information so that they can begin to understand the significance of the issues they will be called upon to face. The program for the students will be on April 16, 1996. Enclosed with this letter is a list of the presenters and their topics, which I hope you will review carefully with your student, as well as spend some time talking about the kinds of choices your child should make for the day. Depending on the students' grade level, they will be asked to make one or two choices. Registrations for the day's activities will begin after class meetings on Tuesday, April 9, 1996. At the class meetings, the students will be given detailed information both on the choices and on the registration procedure. I have also enclosed a form, which you may want to use, that will enable you to determine that your child may not be a participant in a particular workshop. As an introduction to the program, the Fox Lane Association is sponsoring an evening of activities (as advertised on the enclosed pink paper) for you on April 15, 1996. I encourage you to be a participant on this evening. The information that will be shared by the speakers and at the workshops should help you in your demanding role as parents. RMK/ak Enc. |
